ICE and the fascist regime continue to try and make an example of us here in MN. Threats to surge troops, (an additional 1,500 of them, bringing the total to over 3500), of invoking the Insurrection Act, and of orders — from our very own Heinrich Himmler, Stephen Miller — that MN Police and Law Enforcement were to “stand down”, as the Regime, ICE, has taken over all control of the state.
In response to that, we in Minnesota are rising up to prove that we will not be intimidated.
On Friday, January 23rd, we will join the rest of Minnesota in an “Economic Freeze-Out”, no school, no work, no shopping.
We will have a rally and march, beginning in Bridge Square at 2pm.
Most of you have gotten the email from Julia and the rest of us at Nfld Individ, giving you all the details.

I’m also re-posting the first few paragraphs of that email here, as I think it’s on target for how we’re all feeling, and why we are doing this.

Minnesotans are coming together in moral reflection and action to stand together against the actions of the federal government against the state of Minnesota. The ICE surge of over 3,000 Federal agents that cost the life of Renee Nicole Good is violating the Constitutional and human rights of Americans and our neighbors. This is not law enforcement. We need to say what this is: it is a paramilitary occupation forced on Minnesotans by our Federal government because we did not vote for Donald Trump and because our leaders oppose his policies.
We are being punished because we welcome immigrants with open arms and hearts, and for that our immigrant neighbors are being made to suffer, and all Minnesotans are being made to suffer. This state-sponsored cruelty and injustice is not a side-effect of Federal immigration policies, it is in fact the point. This is not the America we choose to live in. These are not our values.
Minnesota will never bend the knee to cruelty. Northfield will never bend the knee for cruelty. Nonviolent, peaceful dissent is patriotic.
Friday, January 23rd will be a statewide day of non-violent moral action, reflection: no work, no school, no shopping — only community, conscience, and collective action.”
We will show those MAGA clowns that we aren’t intimidated by cold weather, and we won’t be intimidated by ICE!!!
