It’s been a while since I’ve posted. No excuses, just life and, as they say, (gestures around everywhere), all this.
As it says on the home page, I promise to be more consistent moving forward!
First off, today (March 31) is Trans Day of Visibility, and it’s an opportunity to celebrate the trans community in its many expressions, fierce persistence, and joyful authenticity, and learn from the lessons that persistence has brought.
It’s also the week following the largest peaceful protest in American history – No Kings 3!!!

Our own Northfield No Kings 3 rally was a huge success on Saturday! Despite the cold wind, (and spring break), we estimate somewhere around 2,500 attendees in Ames Park. We had great speakers, great music thanks to the Justice Choir and Singing Resistance Northfield!
I wanted to give a HUGE shout-out to everyone who joined the Northfield Drum Circle at the beginning!
You guys were GREAT!!!!
Even though it was the first time we tried it, (and, tbh, I was a tad distracted by the logistics of the rest of the event), we joined together in rhythm to start things off right!
I would love to do it again!! Our next big opportunity is May Day, but maybe we can work something out between now and then, too!

So many things were said at NK3. And so much yet to be said.
As the Trump-MAGA regime continues to spend almost $2 billion per day on a war of choice, pushing for even more funding for ICE barberism, cutting our social safety net, ruining our economy, draining our treasury into the pockets of the oligarchs, and generally demolishing America’s standing in the world, we must continue to push back.
Now is the time for us to keep the pressure on.
Now is the time for us to call and write to our representatives.
Now is the time for us take to the streets and shout our opposition.
Now is the time to tell corporations and the oligarchs that we will not give them a penny more.
Do not back down. We, the people, are the last line of defense for our democracy, and the idea and principles our country was founded on.
Take action. Any action. As many actions as you can, no matter how small they might seem.
Show up for things — Presence is Action.
Help each other out — We all do better when we all do better.
Get involved — Think globally, act locally. Believe it or not, being involved with local gov’t can have an impact on State and Federal governance.
I know just living through this time is exhausting, and traumatic, among other things.
It’s okay to take some time to disengage and reset yourself.
But don’t give up. Don’t stop fighting back everywhere you can, in whatever way you can.
It makes a difference, and every drop adds to the tidal wave.
Find your lane and help the cause, ’cause our freedom and our lives depend on it.
